Skipping Feeds at 10 months

Hi, DD2 is 10 mo. I work 3 days a week. For the past month or so, our nanny says that DD2 is refusing the bottle. So instead of getting 4 feeds per day as she usually does, she is only getting 3 feeds each day on the days I work. We have been using my EBM mixed with rice cereal in the morning, so it is being used, just not in a bottle. Just this week, I decided I would not express at work if I'm not too uncomfortable. But then on my non-working days, will I be able to bf 4 times a day? Should I continue to express once a day at work even though DD2 is not taking a bottle any more? Any advice? How many times should I be breastfeeding now anyway? I intend to wean at 1 year. TIA

Hi, my ds2 is 11 months, but for the past few months has been having only 3 feeds - morning, afternoon and evening. I started giving him a bottle for the afternoon feed, mainly as he is at a childminders a couple of days a week so she has to giv eit to him, but he often only drinks a couple of ounces of it.
If he is having milk in cooking - on cereals, cheese sauces etc then he sounds like he is getting enough milk.
FOr a while I wasn't expressing when I was working and would still breastfeed the afternoon feed when he was with me, but I'm not sure how long that works for.

Thanks, Zubb. At least your DS2 is taking the bottle even just for a few ounces. I hope I don't have a problem bf her in the afternoon. If I see a problem, I suppose I could start to express again next week at work.

Hi, I'm not breast feeding but my ds is just 7 months and he has just dropped his morning bottle so he now has 3 7oz bottles a day. The hv said as long as he's getting a pint a day until he's 1 year old that's okay.

Thanks vict17. How many ounces are in a pint?

about 20 almost40, so 3 feeds a day would usually cover it, and thats not counting the amount used in cooking.

almost40, my ds is also 10 months and has refused to take a bottle in nursery from the beginning (7 months). He will drink milk from a cup (with special baby spout) though, so that might be worth trying - my guess is that he feels nursery is not the place for baby-style drinking but ok for drinking like big kids.
