How on earth did you get through it?

Not me sorry @Gigi10. How are you getting on today?

I did with dd3 but had to use nipple shields until it had cleared up. I then weaned myself off them one feed at a time. I won't lie, it was bloody painful, but we got past it and were feeding normally by about 12 weeks. She self-weaned at two and a half!

Have done, and it is evil. Have you got medication? For you and baby?
Ask your midwife or health visitor if there is an infant feeding specialist on their team, as they are often better informed on the best medication than GPs.

Limiting refined sugar in your diet is supposed to help as the thrush feeds on it.

Do watch out for redness, heat and swelling that may indicate mastitis. For me the thrush caused cracks in the nipples that allowed an infection in.

Hand hold, its awful, but with the right meds you should feel better soon.

Yes, I had it with DD & it honestly was one of hardest points in breastfeeding for me, it was so bad I nearly gave up but I did persevere with medications for DD & me & got through it & she feed until nearly 2.
Never got it with DS though thankfully.
Sympathy OP it is really hard.
