In pain!

Hello, am nearly 18 months in to breast feeding my second and suddenly today have a really painful left boob - feels extremely tender and almost bruised, what do I do please?

Oh it's a bit usual to suddenly start at this age. Have you taken some paracetamol?

Does it sound anything like this?

Thank you for replying! It’s not the nipple, more the whole of one side that feels bruised and tender. Out of those options I’d go for trauma actually - this baby has always had a bit of a crappy latch (started off tube fed, bottle fed, tongue tie cut etc) and last night while feeding half asleep in bed she woke me up with something very painful going on!

Can you manage on paracetamol tonight and call one of the BFing Helplines in the morning? Some of them are still open if you can't manage tonight

Yes, I can manage - luckily at night we feed on the other side due to sides of the bed, she just has a top up to get back to sleep.
