Best breast pump

DD is currently fed BM via a bottle as she has an awful tongue tie and no desire to latch. I'm currently using a hospital pump thats they've lent me for a few weeks but i'm just wondering what would be the best one for me to purchase after i have to give this one back? Thank you in advanceSmile

I had an Ameda Lactaline which was great. You could use it as a single or a double.

How's the tt going? Have you been offered a division?

strawberriesunited · 18/01/2021 21:24

@JiltedJohnsJulie thank you, will have a look! Yeah been put on the waiting list and the nearest appointment for us is 7 weeks away at a hospital about 40 miles from us! I'm thinking of going private to be honest. She gets so so frustrated at the breast, pulling off and on, can't seem to suck and then screaming bloody murder after about 5 minutes. Tried all sorts but nothing seems to work😩

I've got the Medella Swing which I've found really good. Lots of people seem to like the Bellababy on Amazon as it's cheap but apparently very good.

I currently have a Medela swing maxi (double pump) and I also have a tommee tippee single electric breast pump. (I started with the tommee tippee then moved onto the medela)

Go private for tongue tie if you can at all afford it. We paid £200 for consultation, division and follow up contact. A decent pump will set you back almost as much. Not to mention the cost of formula if you move on from pumping.

Just realised I didn't answer your actual question. I used a Philips double electric with ds1, haven't had to pump with ds2 thankfully.

Get it done privately if you can. My baby had hers done at 7 and breastfeed fine now.

I had a elvie which was extremely shit! So don't get one of them!

peachypetite · 19/01/2021 07:52

Forgot to say I got the medela and have found it great.

After having one with tt myself I'd pay private if you can at all. Seven weeks am be a long time if you're struggling with feeding a baby Thanks

strawberriesunited · 20/01/2021 09:13

Thanks everyone, going to bite the bullet and go private!Smile
