Did your baby sleep better after coming off omeprazole?

Don't know if it's in my head but DD has been a terrible sleeper since being on it!

Babies can have omeprazole?

I'm shocked. The body develops a dependency on that drug and you get nightmarish heartburn and indigestion after coming off it. I've been on it for years because I can't stop.

My baby is on omeprazole too. Not sure what will happen when he needs to come off it but in the meantime it’s helping him with the terrible pain of reflux, so I’m grateful for it. He’s so much more comfortable now.

OP - how old is your baby? The omeprazole doesn’t seem to have affected my boy’s sleep but he’s only 6 weeks so he doesn’t really have a routine yet anyway.

She's 4 months tomorrow. It worked well initially but this last month she's been so uncomfortable and finding it hard to sleep at night.

Does she possibly need her dose increased? It’s based on weight so she may have outgrown her initial dose and need it increased.

We had this problem with our twins as they were on Omeprazole for reflux.
We weren't entirely convinced it actually made that much difference if I'm honest, and they were still a bit unsettled. Apparently the side effects include stomach ache and I wasn't happy giving it to them when it didn't do much. So we just stopped and they've been a lot better. We just sit them upright after milk & food as long as we can so it can settle in their tummies!

@CustardCreamm can I ask how long they were on it and how you took them off it? My DD has been on omeprazole for just over 2 months and I really want her off it asap

Around 4 months there is a major sleep regression so it could be that
