Cow Milk Allergy: did milk free formula stop reflux?

DS has potentially a milk allergy, but also has severe reflux. He's only just turning 8 weeks and in so much pain.

He's on anti reflux formula until the pharmacy get in his milk free formula which should be tomorrow. I'm hoping this will be the magic potion to cure him of all his pains but worried the reflux isn't a symptom of the allergy (or it may not even be an allergy) and he'll still have it and won't be able to keep the milk down.

We've been at the hospital last week where they took bloods and urine (before he started the anti reflux formula) and all levels were fine so it's unlikely to be an infection.

Please tell me of your experiences with babies and milk allergies so I know what may lie ahead of me.

DS’s reflux was still awful on prescription formula BUT he was a much happier baby, wasn’t screaming in pain any more.

For us yes. It took about a week for the milk to get out of her system and then it stopped the sickness completely. She was 8 months when we finally got the dairy allergy diagnosis though so it was a long road to get there. Good luck
