6 weeks and struggling with feeds

Hi not sure if anyone can help, my baby girl is 6 weeks she’s my first baby and I’m really struggling with feeds, I only managed to breastfeed for the first 10 days and this was on top of bottles due to me not producing enough milk, now she’s only on formula but I’m having a nightmare with feeding the gp gave us infant gaviscon as thought she might have reflux this did help a bit but made her extremely constipated I was originally giving her SMA advance but was unable to get it a few days back so got aptimal instead but she’s not doing a full bottle now, I don’t know if this is coincidence or not she just keeps falling asleep or refuses the rest of the bottle.
a day after being on aptimal she did manage to do a poo less green then before and a lot bigger but after a bottle (only 40-60 ml each time) she is so uncomfortable it’s horrible it’s worse on the evening/ night time feeds even after a few good burps she still looks so uncomfortable and throwing her arms around and sometimes screaming and really red faced I’m starting to dread feeding times and was wondering if anyone could help, I did talk to the HV and the GO agin and they just keep saying she’s at an age where reflux is at it’s worse but I can’t see how I can leave her constipated or in pain 🙈

You have my sympathy OP, that must be really tough.

Firstly, I'd change the Aptimil. There were a tonne of threads a few months back where babies were all like this and they were all on Aptimil. Try something like Hipp Organic instead.

Do any of her symptoms sound like these? If so, that could be the route of your problem.

As for settling her down, have you tried the "Tiger in the Tree" hold yet? If you're not sure how to do it, there are some videos on YouTube.

Hope you find a solution soon Thanks
