My little boy is 4 months old (5 months on 23/01), formula fed and on 210ml 5 times a day. He was sleeping through the night after we upped his milk about back in December.
But just over a week ago around 28th Dec, he started waking frequently in the night resulting in a night feed around 4am, we found a tooth a few days later so put it down to that but now his sleep is settled again he is still waking once a night so now having 6 feeds 210ml.

He just about makes it 2.5 hours between every feed during the day.

Now is he waking in the night because of this tooth or is he actually hungry (Does he need more calories in the day to go back to sleeping through the night again?)?

And if he is hungry do we just start introducing solid food instead of upping bottle to 240ml?!

I have no idea whats best I'm a ftm all I know is I need sleep again 😂😴

Definitely try increasing his milk at this age as that will have more calories than any food you could give him
Good luck !

Does he finish his full feed? If he does then up them to 8oz bottles. It is pretty normal for baby to go through phases of waking in the night for various reasons, many babies don’t sleep through at all.

I wouldn’t give him food yet, i did and it made no difference to sleep, if anything, introducing food too soon will make it worse. Try and get more milk in the day but could just be teeth/ comfort. There’s not much you can do tbh except try and nap in the day/ get used to it/ sleep train 🤷🏻‍♀️

Could be 4 month sleep regression not hunger. But still worth trying more milk, esp in his daytime bottles, if he’s finishing up the 210 ones.

It's too early for solids, they won't help him sleep either.
Normal for sleep to become disturbed at 4 months and last til around 6 months.
