Tomorrow in the Parentcraft room of Whiston Hospital (downstairs in Maternity ward) there will be an antenatal breastfeeding workshop.

Nicki, a midwife who specialises in breastfeeding, will be there to play games with jelly babies and walnuts, show you hand expression on her frighteningly realistic replica boob and generally put your minds at rest about the entire thing.

Several mothers (including me ) who are currently breastfeeding will also be on hand, to serve you tea, coffee and biscuits ... and will of course be happy to answer any questions.

It starts at one o'clock and finishes at three - with regular toilet breaks.

Partners and other children are of course welcome. You don't have to be giving birth at Whiston to attend!!

hi again, sorry been away for a bit!!

mossy, hi! it sounds possible that we may know the same people or even have encountered each other ....oooohh this is a new one for me, virtual world bumping into RL!

Bluenose! central link b/f group is on Tuesday mornings, it was 10.30ish til 12 ish drop-in type thing, will have to check that it is still the same cos i have had to work too many tuesday mornings in the last few months and have missed a lot, and there have been some changes at sure start too. I see the person who runs the group regularly as her child is in the same class as one of mine, so will check for you!! I intend to re-arrange my work a bit so i can drop in on the group again, we worked really hard to get people involved when we began it and it's great to see it growing.

hey camilla/lulu/chicken person, yup i live in st H. even tho my dad still insists it is lancashire

LuckySalem · 25/11/2007 21:37

Mossy · 25/11/2007 21:42

LuckySalem, it's Thursday afternoon, from one until three... bit of a trek from Wrexham for you though! It is a fantastic workshop though!!

Gigglewitch did you go to the Get Closer launch or the LLL Enrichment day at St Peter Street community centre? Do you know Carol Pennington and Nicki Jones?

Gigglewitch my hair is much shorter and darker now.

Are you on FB?

Wasn't it 1974 when St Helens changed from Lancashire to Merseyside? When did Southport change?

OP posts:
Camillathechicken · 25/11/2007 21:45

LuckySalem · 25/11/2007 21:53

In that case then leave it with me and i'll see how far away it is and try to get there.
Where is the venue?

gigglewitch · 25/11/2007 21:53

and for the record, as this is a pg persons thread i am a norty impostor, i have 3 DC which is more than enough. so am certainly not intending to do anything except tell others of the joys of breastfeeding...

bluenosesaint · 25/11/2007 21:53

Thanks gigglewitch

I am interested in going, we are coming up against new 'issues' all the time and it would be helpful i'm sure.

Is it just newborns or is there a range of ages there?

Would be grateful if you could let me know for definite if its on.

PS yes, i'm pretty certain that it changed in 1974 although the majority of my family still insist that its Lancashire!

Camillathechicken · 25/11/2007 21:53

oh, i;m not pregnant either !
