Baby refusing feeds in day

My 16 week old son is refusing to feed during the day. He cries at the sight of my breasts! I’ve tried a bottle but he just pushes it away. Instead he’s now just feeding while asleep at night - without any problems. I’m very worried he isn’t getting enough milk anymore.

This started back in week 6 without any evident cause. I’ve tried everything I can think of but nothing works. Instead he just cries if I try to feed him in the day but feeds absolutely fine at night while asleep.

I don’t think it’s pain related because otherwise he would be in pain at night. I think instead it is a feeding aversion? I am so desperate to fix our feeding relationship I’d love to hear any insight!!

Many thanks

Its really common for babies to do this. Irrating and worrying but common. You Re doing the right thing by offering when you can and feeding overnight. Keep an eye on his nappies (5-6 heavy wet ones in 24 hours) and seek medical help if this drops. You can do things like have a bath together, try feeding while standing or walking, try feeding in a sling, try feeding while he is sleeping. During the day.

Oh God I remember this. She did stop luckily, but shes started again at 5 months here!
So we either go to the bedroom, quiet no TV, and feed in there, doesn't always work or I have to hold her and bounce and walk while she feeds. Nightmare!
Shes far too distracted nowadays and would rather look at everything other than eat.

Has he had his vaccinations recently? I found my baby's silent reflux got much worse after her jabs each time and we would go through a period like this.
