Tongue tie in older baby

So just yesterday I noticed my 9 month old has a slightly heart shaped tongue and had a google, coming up with possible tongue tie. I feel so bad for not noticing this before, I never even knew what tongue tie was!

He has never been a great feeder, stopped breastfeeding at around 2 months but even with a bottle he doesn’t drink much in one go. Now I’m thinking this could be the reason why.

Has anyone experience of a baby this age or older getting it cut? Did it make a difference? Was recovery tough?

Hving spoken to a HV, she advised it is too late to do on the NHS, but she also didn’t think it was bothering him too much. So to not really bother with private either. But I feel like I should get him checked at least.

Any experiences/opinions welcome, thanks!

Hello @OnePotato2Potato i know this is an old post but I’m wondering how your baby got on? I have only recently noticed my son has a heart shaped tongue and I’m concerned this is causing him to have open mouth posture. Thanks in advance!
