so, i get it: the way to boost milk production is to feed more

but, is production stimulated byt eh amount of milk the baby takes, or the length of time he/she feeds?

the reason i ask is that ds2 is a super-fast feeder - at 13 weeks old he's down to 10 or maybe 15 mins per feed (and around 4 hours ebtween feeds, so is not snacking)

with ds1 my periods returned quickly, whilst i was exclusively bfing - i often wondered if it was because he fed quickly (and so less of the whatever-it's-called hormone produced???)

It is the amount which is removed from breast that stimulated the hormones to produce more milk

How milk production works

milk is supply and demand so the more he drinks the more you will produce. he is obviously a very effeicient feeder, as for the period thing mine returned after 3 months but i think its just an individual thing HTH
