6 month old suddenly refusing to be fed solids

Hi all,

A FTM here to a 6.5 month old lovely baby boy.

He has been weaning on purée and now mash since 4 months old. Was going well. He enjoyed sucking from pre made pouches and or using spoon/mainly liked to use spoon himself.

The last few days though he has one taste from a pouch- and then he won't accept anymore. (He used to eat half or ocassionally a whole pouch).

He will pick up the spoon and put it in his mouth. But, not really eating much as most comes off and onto his face/hands/hair etc.

Just wondering if these fussy phases are normal?

He has been a fussy milk drinker for a long time- so I'm worried he will also become a fussy eater too.

Thanks for your replies!

Have you tried baby led weaning now he's older?

Has he been weaved early due to his fussiness or a medical condition?

It could just be a mood thing and he'll be fine tomorrow, but I'd try some different foods and see if you can get him back engaged

Totally normal
They go through phases of eating lots to eating not a thing

I think it's normal too. Babies have a habit of changing things, usually just when you think you've got everything sussed Grin

Are you giving him any finger foods along with his mash?

You could try him with some eggy bread or a banana?

Forgot to add, there's a Weaning Section on MN that you might find useful too Smile
