Advice on how much expressed milk to give baby

I am expressing milk to give to baby and I am struggling to find any guidance as to how much to give him and how often. He is 4 weeks old and have been giving him about 120ml -150ml roughly every 4 hours I used the guide for the formula but worried he is either having too much or too little.

Thank you

A BF baby takes roughly 30 ml an hour so if they've not fed for hours that sounds about right however BM is digested more quickly so if baby is hungry before the 4 hours you might want to think about offering smaller bottles more often, just take baby's lead in when they're hungry Smile

My 12 week old takes 150 ml of expressed milk every 4 hours, and she's on 5 bottles a day. I also follow the guide for the formula. You can also calculate it online if you google it, how much they get depends on their weight

I exclusively expressed with both of my kids until they weaned. Feed on demand as you would if you were breastfeeding in the usual way. You can't over feed a breast fed baby.

It seems a lifetime ago now (it's really not 😂) but I remember my daughter being a real milk guzzler. She would easily have 6-7 bottles in a day. Sometimes more!

Feed as much as they want. If they don't want it they won't drink it.

I don't know if it's of any help to you but on the off chance it is- I bought a carafe jug (from IKEA) and used to store all of my expressed milk in there. It's good for 1L of milk and I used to pour it into the bottles and if I needed a bit more I just added a little bit as I wasn't stressing about wasting it 😁.
