Does reflux ever get better? 7 month old

My DD is 7 months old and has had reflux since she was about 3/4 weeks old. She’s been on infant gaviscon since 5 weeks old but it’s never really stopped the sick, just helped a bit with the pain.

I went to my GP so many times to try and get a different medication and was refused every time, was accused of being a paranoid FTM and was told ‘babies cry’ Smile

I had such a hard time getting her to feed for the first 4 months of her life, she’d refuse feeds all the time, screaming at the sight of a bottle etc. She dropped a centile cause of this. It did get better around 4.5 months and she started drinking 6oz bottles, however, this just made her sick even worse.

When she was 5 months old I saw a paediatrician who advised me to start weaning her ASAP, this hasn’t helped at all and she even brings up solids quite regularly. She also thought maybe she had CMPA but she refused to drink the special formula and to be honest, she doesn’t have any other symptoms so I don’t think that’s her issue. She also wouldn't give her a different medication. I think she might have tongue tie & lip tie (she gets so much wind from drinking a bottle) but when I mentioned it at her 8 week check up I was told even if she does, they won’t do anything about it because she’s bottle-fed.

She is quite a difficult baby, she’s constantly moaning and whinging all day.. and I’m wondering if it’s down to her reflux.

Just looking for some reassurance really, I’m just so tired of me and her being covered in sick, it’s getting me down!

I've got CMPA I'd say she's [[
showing enough symptoms to convince me! Smile

If you've still got the DF formula, have you tried adding vanilla essence to it to make it more palatable?

If you think it's tongue tie, Milk Matters do a virtual diagnosis. HTH

@JiltedJohnsJulie unfortunately I binned the formula as it has been open for some time. I did try that though but she was having none of it Grin

Last 2 days have been horrendous with projectile style vomiting and I’m starting to go insane! Think another trip to the GP might be in order..

Thank you for the links though, will look into it!

If you are having no luck with the GP, film the bad episodes and show them. If that doesn't work, I'd consider going to A&E.

If you've read the information from Allergy UK and you think it may be CMPA and the GP does, I think the Nice Gudelines suggest referral to an Allergy Clinic.
