Wondering if anyone has gone through anything similar.

My little guy is 6 weeks old, he has had a dry eczema looking rash on his cheeks, a red rash on his bum which wont clear with clotrimazole/usual nappy rash creams, colic, constipation and gas after drinking breastmilk and normal infant formula.

We tried aptamil pepti to rule out a CMA however this made his skin worse and it colic worsened also. His eye lids also became swollen on this milk.

We moved him to comfort milk and he seems great with this. However whenever i breastfeed him or give him a bottle of expressed milk his rash on his face returns with a vengeance and his colic returns. He looks in a lot of pain and cries for hours and I dont like to see him in pain.

Ive tried going dairy free and it made no difference. My health visitor thinks its reflux so ive tried infant gaviscon however this has not helped also.

Its so important to me that he does get some breast milk and I do want to continue combination feeding. (i have a milk supply issues due to wee one having health complications at birth). However I know I cant continue for much longer unless I can find a solution to what's causing the issues.

If anyone has any experiences or advice id love to hear from you!

Thanks

How long did you ditch the dairy for Lunar?

Around 2 weeks

After 2 weeks they should be ok if it is the dairy but you should start to see a little improvement after 3 days or so.

I'm a bit stumped on this one really, especially as you say he's ok on the comfort milk.
