Exclusively breastfeeding and no sign of my period. Keen to start trying for number 2 but no idea when I’ll be able to! Don’t want to have to stop breastfeeding just so I can conceive. Baby is 11 months x

4 months. So annoying. Regular as clockwork since then and still feeding at 20 months. Hope yours is back soon though, good luck ttc.

Llamapolice · 01/12/2020 22:57

Not until 16mo for me. But it's not clear cut anyway, you could conceive before they return but equally you might not be able to conceive while breastfeeding even if your periods have restarted.

MoreRainbowsPlease · 01/12/2020 22:59

I am another one who's periods return after both dc's at 4 months even though I was still bf every couple of hours and many, many, many times during the night. I was very annoyed!

SteakBake4Me · 01/12/2020 23:01

After DS - 9 months.
After DD - 13 months.

I got pregnant with DD when DS had just turned 2. I fed him until I was about 5 months pregnant but it was so sore and my milk had all but gone - it was nice to have a break before feeding a newborn again!

Love51 · 01/12/2020 23:03

When I went back to work and wasn't giving any daytime feeds. Just before 12 months. Had 2 periods, 6 weeks apart and fell pregnant again. Came back quicker the second time but that baby seemed to drink less milk.

lilsquish · 01/12/2020 23:04

Exactly 2 weeks after i stopped feeding (14months post birth)

mangoandraspberries · 01/12/2020 23:06

Probably not what you want to hear, but I had to stop bfing to get my periods back - when DS was 9 months. Possibly coincidence, but they came back 2 weeks after I stopped.

piglet81 · 01/12/2020 23:06

Two years and one day!

Stroan · 01/12/2020 23:06

13 months. Just after he started nursery and wasn't having day feeds on those three days.

I wasn't impressed.

lilsquish · 01/12/2020 23:06

Not sure if it was a coincidence or not tho Grin

Last 2 to 3 months of feeding it was only morning and bedtime feeds.

Good luck with TTC

DramaAlpaca · 01/12/2020 23:06

Four months. I was most annoyed. Got pregnant again three months later so I suppose there was an upside Smile

olderthanyouthink · 02/12/2020 01:15

22 months, wants a second from when she was 17/18 months but had to wait a while

RidingMyBike · 03/12/2020 12:10

It's really variable. A friend who EBF got pregnant by accident six weeks after the birth. Whereas I was 50/50 combi feeding with no BFing at night and didn't have a period for 11.5 months! I queried it with GP and she said they'd look into it if it went past a year.

felttree · 03/12/2020 12:16

8 months just after I dropped a feed or two.

Dmtush · 03/12/2020 12:18

DS 9 weeks, DD1 9 months, DD2 21 bastard days. Exclusively fed all of them for years on end.

Janefx40 · 03/12/2020 12:19

For me it was 10 months which was about 2 months after I'd stopped giving her night feeds. It will come back I'm sure x

ParadiseLaundry · 03/12/2020 12:22

16 months with DS1

12 months with DS2 got my period on his first birthday!

Starwatcher123 · 04/12/2020 09:31

7 months for me, I would have liked for it to take longer.

Careybeary · 07/12/2020 13:47

Just a quick update to those who replied, so strange, my period showed up the day after I wrote this post. I must have subconsciously known it was on it’s way!

You might not need to stop BFing. I got pg whilst still BFing Smile

DramaAlpaca · 07/12/2020 21:46

So did I Smile

Janefx40 · 07/12/2020 22:41

@Careybeary so strange how things like that happen! That's great tho. It took a few months for my periods to become totally regular again but they weren't far off - a few days longer or shorter. Good luck with TTC x

tappitytaptap · 09/12/2020 12:03

My DS2 was almost 2 when mine came back. Still feeds in the night and has never taken a bottle or formula though. Most others I know returned a lot sooner

SoupDragon · 09/12/2020 12:05

8 weeks. I was SO pissed off.

MrsSDK · 09/12/2020 12:05

18 months while still feeding
