Haakka milk collector?

I'm thinking of buying the haakka milk collector as I'm needing to start pumping to have some milk spare for when I'm not with baby, and it's been recommended to me. (I already have a Medela pump, just wanting to make life easier and collect more if I can). My only concern is that I never really leak milk as baby feeds frequently (nearly 8 weeks), and I don't get a letdown sensation on the other side when he is feeding, so I'm not sure I'd end up collecting anything? Any advice if it's worth getting one? Thanks

I bought one (different brand but same thing I think) and I find it really useful. Easy to use to collect milk while feeding baby at the same time, tends to vary how much depending on the day/time. From the research I did I think it just depends and I don't think you can really know until you try it!

Hi, I found mine really useful as I needed to give some small top ups. They suction on so it’s doesn’t just collect milk like breast shells would, the gentle suction helps the milk to flow. I used to get anything from 0.5-2oz at a time so would add it up over the day to give later on. I think you can end up with more of the foremilk compared to a full pumping session using a proper pump but think that’s quite individual. I’d definitely recommend looking at videos about how to get the most from them as it made a big difference to how much I could collect-you have to turn the flange part inside out almost and squeeze the base as you attach it which creates a better seal/suction. It also stops it getting knocked off as easily by a wriggly baby!! Wish I’d known about them with my first two, I’d have never had time to use an actual pump this time round so it was a godsend x
