How can you tell if milk supply has gone?

I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant and still breastfeeding my 9 month old. I was hoping to keep going as long as I don’t get too sore or feel too rubbish. I know pregnancy can sometimes affect women’s milk supply but I thought this was much later..I’ve noticed the last couple of days she seems to be taking very little milk. I can’t hear her swallowing and she’s getting very fussy.

I have also in the last month or so switched to combi feeding gradually so I’m only breastfeeding morning, before bed and any night feeds as she’s started nursery and I’m back to work. Could it be the reduction in feeds plus pregnancy hormones causing this? Last night before bed I suspected something wasn’t right so gave her a bottle of formula after her breastfeed and she downed 6oz so guessing my supply is going / gone...

I was in similar situation with my 10 month old. She went right off the boob before I had even taken a pregnancy test. I tried not to take it too personally (easier said than done!) and persevered. We were down to one feed a day in the morning by her first birthday. And finally gave up this week at 13.5 months as she just wasn't interested. If she's 9mo she'll be getting a fair bit from food and will naturally be needing less milk. I guess it's a vicious circle of her feeding less so you producing less milk, so her feeding even less again. Can you hand express to see if anything comes out? Or try and pump to get supply back up?
