Formula choices

I'd intended to bf but had a very traumatic labour which left me unable to feed my daughter. She's now 6 weeks old and has been on SMA, which is what the hospital supplied for her.

Dh and I had never looked into formula as we never thought that would be our route to go to. She's experiencing a fair bit of reflux and had difficulty winding and burping. Over the last two ish weeks she's only been pooing every 2/3 days and seems quite uncomfortable by the end. Considering switching up her formula - any recommendations if your child has been similar to her? Thanks!

Sorry to hear about bf not working out. I can sympathize, it really is awfully heart breaking :(
My LO is on Aptamil now. We did supplement with SMA here and there in my initial bf journey before switching to full time FF.
Tbh I was so stubborn about my bf goals I hadn't even bought any bottlefeeding equipment let alone formula so hadn't done much research prior.
Though I have heard that Aptamil is low in protein similar to bmilk which is gentler on babies digestive system. Also was told that it is a bit cleaner? Idk really. Seems to suit my LO fine.
And we also used to have a big poo diaper every 2/3 days but as were in 4th month now its more regular like every 1-2 days. Not all babies to 5x a day, consider it a small blessing.. less to change!
Hope your baby thrives and settles well
And don't worry about bonding via bottlefeeding - I nearly did my head in with paranoia that my baby wouldn't be as attached but thats just absolutely farthest from the truth!
It's just me and DH who are allowed to feed bubba and babys first choice is always mom! You will still get all the cuddles and feels.. lots of skin to skin (I did everyday till 3months) while feeding baby, have her lean/lay against your breast/chest while sitting upright (must for reflux) whenever its doable
You got this :)

We switched to Hipp Organic at 8 weeks. My Dd now does a poo every day/every other day rather than every 4 days and is much more comfortable and has hardly any gas problems now.

All 3 of mine had cow and gate and were fine but Dd didn’t seem to tollerate it.

Dr recommend Hipp.

Hipp Organic was good for us too.
