Baby unsettled after tongue tie snip

My 7 week old DD had a posterior tongue tie cut today which was 80% restricted. She latched fine and fed after it was cut but since coming home has been quite unsettled and seems to now be struggling to latch. We had a lot of tears and she's gone to sleep now but probably through exhaustion. Has anyone else had this? Did it take a few days to improve?

Yes with both of mine, just keep offering milk and try and stay calm. It may take a week for baby to adjust to new way of feeding.

Yes after her second tt division she struggled to latch, was clicking & had really short feeds sort of like she’d forgotten how to feed completely. I persevered but it was very stressful for a while.
Think it’s normal but would you be able to speak to whoever did the division for some reassurance?

Totally normal. Whoever divided it should have warned you it could happen. It can take them a while to adjust, especially as your DD is 7 weeks old so she's had 7 weeks to get used to feeding with the tongue tie, now she has to learn a new way of feeding. She'll get there and it will be much better for both of you.
