Weaning off nipple sheild shorter feeds

Hi.

I'm hoping someone had a similar experience. I had been using nipple sheilds until today (4 weeks old) DS finally latched onto the boob with the help of the lact consultant. My question is: DS is a short feeder but all his feeds from the rest have been short today. Is this normal or is he not staying on the boob like he did the sheild? Anyone been here?

Thanks

Hey no personal experience as I was unable to wean Ds off the nipple shield, but from what I remember the shield can slow down the milk flow/how much milk baby gets. So baby is most likely just getting what they need in a shorter time frame now

Well done on getting him off the shield :)
