Nips sore after giving up BF

I finally got DS off the boob (BF for 2 years, 2 weeks and 2 days!!) It's been 9 days.
I'm not getting any engorgement. my milk had all but dried up in the last couple of months.
But, the last coupe of days my nipples have been really sore. is that normal?

mine were very sensitive for a while. Only did 9.5 months tho

so i'm not a freak then,
its just that they were impervious to any sensation pain for so long it's weird to feel anything again!
