flu jab and BF

Does anyone know if you can have the flu vaccination if you're breastfeeding?

My surgery has asked me to come and queue up on Saturday morning to be jabbed (I'm mildly asthmatic) but the receptionist didn't know if it's BF compatible. The info I've found on the internet has only confused me, so thought I'd try the might of Mumsnet!

Thanks in advance.

hadn't even occurred to me! i'm getting mine next week. wonder what mn will say?

Morocco - not sure about MN (anyone??), but Kellymom says it's fine: "Influenza vaccine does not affect the safety of mothers who are breastfeeding or their infants. Breastfeeding does not adversely affect the immune response and is not a contraindication for vaccination." See this .

I had mine last year and was breast feeding at the time, my doctor didn't seem to thing it would do any harm and my dd was absolutly fine.
