DS 7.5mo reducing BFs will milk regulate ok?

DS still feeds steadily through the night , but in the day isn't interested too much now. Some days he doesn't want a BF, I offer him forumla out of a cup, which he drinks happily. Other days he might take a full BF during the day. If my boobs are at bursting point then I'll express so he can still get the BF out of a cup, but don't need to or don't manage to some days if out and about.

will the milk supply still regulate to his needs, or will it dwindle away in the day now? anybody recommend a link or some words of wisdom for what happens to the milk when feeding becomes erratic? TIA.

Hi Choolie - I can't help much, I'm afraid. But hopefully someone will be along in a bit.

Perhaps he is getting enough at night? At that age, DD was (and still is at 11 months) only having four feeds a day and none at night.

yes, i think he prob gets his fill at night, but am still living in hope that he'll give up on the night feeds soon, so I'm just concerned that when he does feed some days but not others eventually my body might give up producing in the day - ? I just don't know how it works this far down the line. I know in the beginning at growth spurt time they feed like crazy for a day or so, then hey presto, supply is up. wasn't sure if it dwindles down in same way?

Hi choolie

Any change? Has DS started feeding in the day again?

If not, can this help? Or this ?
