Teething, Gone Off Solids, or Breast Addicted???? Long post, soz.

Starting to go slowly mad... DD is almost 13 months and for the last three weeks has been feeding more and more on the breast and taking less and less solid food. She has been teething on and off and I can see four whitish lumps in her gums. She has also been learning to walk in the last month and has just really cracked it. Do we think it is the teeth, the walking or is she unweaning herself? She is asking for breast feeds about 8 times during the day (not overnight at all thank goodness). I am aware that she might now not be hungry enough for meals but even when I know she is hungry she eats a bit and then starts asking for milk. What do you think?

I don't think children 'unwean' themsleves!

It may be a phase some toddlers go through = DS went through periods when he BF like a newborn - every couple of hours day & night until he was about 16 months old.

I think, if you are happy to, let her BF as much as she wants, let her eat what she wants and keep an eye on her teeth. Give her lots of cold things to chew on.

Thanks OverRated. How long did those periods last with your DS?

I think part of it is that I am not sure presently what I want to do. Feeling slight social pressure now where I wasn't before, though trying to ignore it.

I tried to restrict the feeds today and distract her per advice from the HV and ended up with a really upset baby at bathtime (having not eaten her tea). She never normally gets upset like that when I just let her feed when she asks.
