Feeding in my sleep

Baby is 3 months old.
EBF.
Sleeps in sleepsuit and 1 tog GroBag.

The last two nights I was convinced that DC was sleeping for longer periods. It wasn’t until last night that DP came home from a late shift and found DC in bed with me, most of his body (not his head) under the quilt with me.

He woke us up and moved DC back into Chicco Next2Me since there was a risk of DC overheating. I had no recollection of picking DC up and feeding. So it dawn on me.. DC wasn’t sleeping longer I just feed without knowing and that’s petrified me.

Sometimes I take steps to co sleep safely but others I don’t when I have no intention of having baby in bed with me.

How can I have no recollection of this? Does that happen often to people?

I don't think it's happened to me (but I wouldn't know I guess?) I tend to do the first feed sat up and if he wakes a second time I bring him in with me and feed lying on my side. I have my bed set up safely and I do use a duvet but only up to my waist and I tuck it under me. I wear a warmer top to bed than I otherwise would to allow this. I find this stops me falling asleep feeding. Maybe get yourself set up and it may reduce your worry a bit.
