Does breastfeeding make anyone else dizzy?

I know I've joked on other threads about losing my brian, but DS2's current growth spurt seems to have turned me into a zombie. I constantly feel as though I'm dreaming and walking through treacle. I have to concentrate hard to stop my speech from slurring. It's now 10 in the morning and I feel as if I've just woken up and when I move my head, my eyes take a minute to catch up. Is this normal? When he was newborn and my milk had just come in, I felt drunk at every let-down. Do you think this is just a continuation of that process?

Droile - are you keeping up your own fluid and calorie intake so that your body can cope with demand? Your 'symptoms' sounds very similiar to those that can be experienced with dehydration.

Thanks snugs. I think I drink plenty but I'll try and step it up and see what happens.

DroileI felt perpetually doped up when I was breast-feedingand generally had similar symptoms to what you describe, though maybe not so severely. Also my heart rate used to go down to like 40-something beats per minute. I've heard breastfeeding releases a hormone that has the effect of zombifying. It's supposed to be the same hormone that floods a man's system once he's had an orgasm

ooh-er, Expatkat!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one. i think DS2 has perhaps been overdoing it. When DH came in for lunch just now I said 'bye, it was nice knowing you', as I honestly feel as though I'm drifting away. It's not entirely unpleasant .....
