Morning everyone,
My son who is coming up to 8 weeks has rarely finished his bottle during a feed and is having multiple smaller feeds during the day sometimes every 1-2 hours.
There is always milk remaining and as you can imagine resulting in a lot of wastage. We make up 4 ounces with a new perfect prep machine for feeds and commonly there is 1-2 ounces remaining. We use Mam bottles.
He has colic so we give gripe water and and also co lactase which reduced a lot of fussing during the feeds. He has signs of reflux too but as he is putting on weight our health visitor has said there is little we can do. He gets very gassy and that does disrupt feeds and we try to burp as frequently as possible and even that is sometimes ineffective.
We find he falls asleep during the feeds a lot but when we tried a size 2 teat as some have suggested the flow was too quick for him.
He doesn’t have tongue tie and this has been checked.
How can I get him to have fewer but larger feeds instead of his multiple smaller ones?Do we try another brand of formula?
Would really appreciate any help.
Thanks
