How do I stop breastfeeding my child

My baby is now 13 months old and I still feed her at night. I wanted to stop before the pandemic but she has breathing issues and I wanted to continue breastfeeding her incase she got covid. Now things are improved I would like to stop. Problem is I don't know how to without causing too much upset to her. I've always done it before bed and in the night to settle her (it's night time that her breathing problems are worst so it's helped lots). Now she gets herself in a huge mess, getting all upset and I hate seeing her get like this. Is there a way so that she doesn't get quite so upset (I fully expected to get some tears)
