How to stop breastfeeding - help!

Hi, my son is 6months old and is currently exclusively breastfed. We’re just starting to introduce food this week.

I’m not looking to stop breastfeeding anytime soon.. but eventually I do want to. When he’s maybe 10months to a year old. I’m hoping for a gentle weaning process.

The thing is he won’t take a bottle at all or a dummy. When he wakes in the night (which is a lot right now Confused ) the only thing that will settle him is if I feed him to sleep.

I guess I’m just looking for stories of hope! Has anyone managed a gentle stress free weaning process with a bottle refusing baby? Any tips??

I’m just very sleep deprived and feeling a bit hopeless about it just now.

I'm in a similar situation. DD is 7 months and EBF, and I need to stop (or at least stop in the day, I'm happy to do mornings and evenings) before I go back to work in a couple of months. She refused bottles when she was tiny but I've not tried them for months.

My plan - no idea yet if it will work - is to skip bottles and get her drinking formula from a sippy cup. She uses one for water and has formula on weetabix, so I'm hoping it won't be a shock to her.
