Decreasing Milk supply or Normal?

Morning All

I have decided to exclusively pump and just completed my 8th session (from the last 24 hours).
I’m using a double electric pump and waa able to extract approx 100ml (just over 3oz) during the earlier sessions. But now I am noticing the output is lowering each session. 4th session in gave about 80 ml (2.5 oz) and now it’s only made 70ml.

AmmI doing something wrong? Is this usually what happens?

I only decided to EE due to poor latch from DC despite having an abundant amount of milk. She is only 3 weeks old so I know my milk supply isn’t established yet.

Can anyone tell me if the decrease is normal or whether it is an indication of my supply decreasing?

FYI I am pumping for about 20-25 mins on both breasts.

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought it's supply decreasing, more fluctuations. Are you well hydrated? That can make a big difference.

If you're worried, then why not emulate a growth spurt today and pump more often? Or, (and don't hate me), add an extra pump in the middle of the night when prolactin is highest? A baby on a growth spurt will feed hourly - and removing milk from the breast should stimulate more to be made more frequently - it's why (assuming you are producing milk, which you are) soft breasts = good for milk production, hard = lots of milk stored but bad for milk production.

Yes it can be normal for solely expressing for your milk supply to drop. The pump doesn't stimulate the breast in the same way as the baby would with a good latch. Is there any breastfeeding groups near you? I would try and get the baby latching on, she's only three weeks so totally worth trying if you wanted to.
