How to stop breastfed night feeds?

DD is nearly one. She eats well and subsequently has dropped almost all day time feeds but she still has at least two feeds at night. It’s the only feeds she really cries for, even though she only ever has a five minute feed max.

I want to stop breastfeeding but how do I stop these night feeds? I really have no clue what to do or how to go about this! Help!

Hi i had the same thing, my DD was one and still woke up once a night for boob. I had surgery so was unable to bf for 24 hours, so when she woke up for usual feed my husband attempted to feed her a bottle, which she did take while i was at work. She cried for nearly 2 hours refusing the bottle before going back to sleep. We tried everything to settle her, but she just wanted to bf. It was hell. But the next night she slept through in her own room. I don't know if this helps but it made me realise my baby was only feeding for comfort rather than needing to, so helps us make the decision to finally move her into her own room.

I've recently cut the night time feeds for my nearly 1 year old. I just cuddled him and walked up.and down with him when he woke. The first 2 nights he was awake for hours, not upset but wouldn't go back in his cot. But on the third night he slept through and has every night since.
