I can't believe it worked. I also can't believe I did that - just put a sterilised needle (very gently) to a small white blister on my nipple. And out came all the blocked milk. I am both repelled and amazed.

Congrats, cocobear! I am currently working on getting rid of one myself at the mo. I once had one which was caused by a teeny tiny plug of dried milk in the nipple, which
I squeezed out...and it was followed by the most impressive jet of milk shooting across the room. I had to scramble to get my boob into dd's mouth quick sharp to give her the milk...and the hard blockage in the boob disappeared instantly.

AMAZING!

Did it come out as a sticky blob of goo or as a gush of milk? Curious because a blob popped out of the tip of my nipple after a nasty 'cracked and bleeding' engorgement period and I wondered if it meant I already had a blocked duct. Ugh!

For me, the blockage plug was tiny, like squeezing a blackhead, only white (sorry, that's a vile description), and the jet of milk that followed was watery like foremilk, which relieved all the pressure within a couple of minutes. I knew I had a blocked duct because of the hard painful lump in my boob caused by the backed up milk, and only discovered the plugged pore later.

Now each time I get a blocked duct I look to see if I can find a plug in the nipple that's causing it!

URGGGH congrats but URRGGGH. I just let DD feed on that side exclusively and she's about the equivalent of a Dyson vacuum cleaner when she realises there is little left so that normally does it too.

Sometimes it's a strange old journey, this breastfeeding thing. I pumped out the backed-up milk (DD was fast asleep) and about 40 ml came out of just that duct. Bizarre, yet strangely satisfying. And the pain is gone, gone, gone.
