In answer to the OP -nope, I didn't with either of min - if you don't want to then don't.

I expressed milk for DD when she was very little so I could go to my dance class. Although she would take the ebm from me (bizarrely) she wouldn't take it from anyone else. So I gave up expressing, and now they just distract her while I'm out.

I left DD1 with my grandmother when she was very tiny, and when I was delayed she fed her boiled water off a spoon.

Surely in an emergency situation, if you were suddenly not there a hungry baby would take milk from any sort of receptacle rather than starve itself? Most BF mums aren't going to be hospitalised unexpectedly- the only time I have ever been to hospital is to give birth or for ERPC.
