11 months: is breastfeeding over?

My son is 11 months, and apart from some absent minded suckling in the bath this evening, he seems to have lost interest in breastfeeding. I work full-time and I've been feeding morning and and two evening feeds for the last few months.

My son was a little premature, lost more than 10% of his body weight and due to a post c-section infection, he was pretty much ff from birth. I am a stubborn old thing and ma managed to establish breastfeeding by expressing and expressing. Gradually he learnt how to latch on and I dropped the expressing but kept on with occasional formula feed.

He is formula fed by his grandparents and the childminder and I have continued to breastfeed. Until now. Is it over do you think? Can I get it back up again?

My dd is 13m and down to 1 feed a day (morning). She recently completely lost interest in the bed-time feed.

I think I'll feel a bit weird if she stops completely

I guess you could just keep offering. Maybe the disinterest is temporary.

Ds lost interest in bf when he was about 9months. I was planning to feed him for alot longer. He just fed less and less untill I went into hospital to have my apendics out and my milk dried up completely . I tried to get him to latch on about a week after coming homw from hospital but he just wasnt interested at all.

My dd1 and dd2 self-weaned and i too felt sad about it even though I was ready to stop.

I found with dd2 that she much preferred bottles as it was easier for her to get the milk. Have you thought of switching the formula feeds to cups/beakers so his suckling and comfort comes from you? (just a thought don't know if there's any rationale to that!)

My dd lost interest when I had to go away with work but then regained it a couple of days later. This has happened each time I have to go to at head office since. (about 3/4 days at a time every quarter). I express while away but do seem to get less each time.
She now does about 5 mins am and about 15 mins before bed most days (18 months). Feeds did get much shorter though at about 12 months.
Keep offering Duchess and he may be up for it sometimes.
