8mo refusing bottle while I'm at work

I've recently gone back to work after maternity leave, and in preparation we got my EBF DS (8 months) back onto the bottle, giving him one every couple of days. My husband would give it and it was all going fine!
Now I've actually started back at work and he's flat out refusing to drink it! I leave at 8am and get back about 5, so he's missing two breastfeeds. He's well established on solids, having 3 decent sized meals a day, and my DH says he doesn't seem hungry or upset at all. He's been giving him a bigger lunch a little early to make up for it, but I'm still worried about the lost calories! When we've given a bottle to replace a breastfeed before he's drunk around 6oz. He doesn't seem to be making up for it when I get home, he has a regular length feed and isn't waking in the night...

Any tips/reassurance? My DH is adamant he's fine and is making up for it by eating bigger solid food portions, but I'm still worried. I only work 3 days and he's feeding normally on the days I'm home. (I've only been back at work a week)

Thanks!

As you've expressed you can mix that with his food if you want to. He doesn't really need it if he's enjoying weaning. Some babies take longer to get onto solids but if he's keen I'd leave him to it.

Ok thanks, it's nice to have a bit of reassurance! We use formula in his breakfast and at work I'm pumping so can start using that milk in other meals too.
