I'm so confused - perfect prep machine

I'm wanting to make a 180ml bottle, so putting 6 level scoops of formula in the bottle, selecting 180ml on the machine, it adds the hot shot, I'm shaking it up and putting it back for the cool water, but it isn't stopping anywhere near 180! It just seems to keep going til I panic and stop it! I guess the formula itself adds some volume but not all that much! What the heck? Am I doing it wrong or is it a dodgy machine or what? I don't have a manual and looking online I can only find info about the American version with the twisty dial.

Try setting it away to fill 180ml with no formula in to see where it fill to

It's the froth that takes it above the line once it settles it should be what you're after.

I think it's because the milk foams up and makes it a bigger volume. I think that's why when you use a letter you have to put the water in then the milk otherwise you wouldn't be able to measure the ml accurately. But I agree - when using 180 ml you are always playing chicken with yourself. Thinking it's going to over fill but not take the bottle away because you know you need all the water!

So just to check, if baby leaves 50ml, and you set it to be a 180ml bottle, do you note it down as they took 130ml or go off how full it actually was?

How much they actually drank.

I just gave it a try without powder and it amounts to 200ml!! What?! Have other people had this issue?
