Hi,
I’ve been advised to stop breastfeeding due to medical reasons as I need to recommence medication for my heart. I’ll be seeing my cardiac consultant in October so hoping to have weaned my 19 month old off by then.
My problem is that I always get blocked ducts and often mastitis. Never had mastitis once with my first child but I’ve probably had it more that 10 times with this bubba. I forget how awful it is until it strikes again
Does anyone have any advice on reducing feeds really slowly to avoid blocked ducts and mastitis? If I just cut out a feed I guarantee my boob will be engorged within hours. Do I hand express? Pump? Let little one feed but reduce the time?
Any thoughts welcome! Thank you x
