Hi, I would like to start ttc for a second child soon. I'm still BFing my 13 month old in the morning and before bed. My periods returned at 9 months when I cut down to 3 times a day. I have 2 questions really, should my BFing make getting preg and sustaining a pregnancy harder? ie should I ween? And will my child ween during my pregnancy naturally?

I would like to go on feeding with the current situation if possible but it took me a while to conceive my first so I ought to get on ttc iyswim.

Any help would be great.

I got pg when my Ds1 was 9 montsh old, first month after my AF returned. i was still Bf a lot more than 3 times a day. i cant imagine why you would need to wean if you are having regular Af and ovulating but i am not an expert.

my DS1 self weaned when i was 6 month pg but if he hadnt i woudl just have tandem fed i think, so as not to upset him. You shoudl be ok as you will have a much bigger gap - even if you conceive next month your first child will be neary 2 when your next is born. Some toddlers seem to object to the change in taste of your milk when you are PG but others dont care!

good luck TTC
