Infant gaviscon

We have just got back from the doctor with my DS (6 weeks) and he has been prescribed infant gaviscon as he keeps bringing up milk and he thinks he may have reflux. We give him gripe water for his wind though as he has terrible wind. we can't give the two together. I'm worried the gaviscon will trap the wind in his tummy, what do you think?

As your gp has prescribed the gaviscon, I would give it a go, and don't give gripe water. Reflux can aggravate wind, and if you sort out the reflux, then you may find wind less of a problem. Speaking from my own experience of infant gaviscon, it made a noticeable difference for my dd pretty much immediately. If you don't see a difference after a couple of feeds, then go back to your gp/hv.
