Formula - which one?

Going to be one a mum for the second time in a few weeks. Chances are I am going to FF as this worked well with the first. I've forgotten pretty much everything, are all formulas the same, are there particularly good ones?

First time around I used Aptimil just because that's what my mum gave me, but I noticed last night when I was shopping it was the most expensive!

What do people use?

They are regulated so any of them will have the required nutrients. Others have extras added but if they were required then all formulae would need to add it too. Aptamil has the same manufacturer as Cow and Gate. Aldi even makes their own infant formula these days.

Honestly they are so tightly regulated they all have very similar content by law.. I’m currently using Aptimil however wish I had used a cheaper brand as the cost really adds up over time. 2 more months then she can move onto cows milk thank god! For future children I will go cow and gate I think, a lot cheaper and available most places.

You could move over to a cheaper brand right now if you wanted to. I switched from aptamil to cow and gate around 9 months as it was cheaper

Sainsbury and aldi are the cheapest own brand.

If your wanting to save money I'd look at the possibility of Combi feeding breast and formula that would be the best of both worlds.

I've used Cow and gate for both of mine. It's one of the cheaper ones, and you can find it everywhere.
A lot of people say the Aldi one is great too, but obviously you are a bit more restricted where you can get it from.

Teacaketotty · 20/06/2020 15:32

@dementedpixie I could do, I bought a box on Amazon which I am hoping will see us through until she turns one so hopefully don’t have to buy anymore - thanks though x

Thanks for responses Smile if one was proven to be better than the other I wouldn't be bothered about the cost but if you can get the same thing for £4-5 cheaper a time, I'm all for that. I dread to think how much formula costs over the year!
