Feeds reduced for 4 month baby

Hi,

I'm exclusively breastfeeding and my baby was feeding roughly every 3 hours (doing responsive feeding) but since she turned around 3 and 1/2 months, her feeds have reduced, and she feeds roughly every 6 hours, only having about 3 to 4 feeds a day. Is this common/normal?

Each feed is a lot longer, she's on my breast for 30mins to 1 hour, but who knows if she's actually drinking the whole time...though i do feel the sucking movement. Her weight is fine, and she has wet and dirty nappies throughout the day so I'm not overly worried, but just wanted to know if this is normal?

Thanks!

It seems like a long while to go between feeds but the main thing is that she is gaining weight ok.

At the age my LO was really distractable when feeding and I found it helped to feed him in a darkened room.

I am not sure there is a normal. They all seem so different. I had the opposite to you, lots of feeds but really short ones. I think my breasts don't hold much milk so have to be contantly producing it!

Is she falling asleep on the breast? If she is clearly swalling for that amount of time she must be getting a fair amount of milk.
