Breastfeeding with over the muscle implants?

Hi,

I think I posted this in the wrong thread earlier but I just wondered if there were any mums out there who managed to breastfeed with over the muscle implants? Did you have any issues with supply etc? I was led to believe that implants don't usually affect breastfeeding but it would be nice to hear some successful stories 😊

I have. I had implants when I was 22, ten years later I had DS and breastfed him for a year with no issues. I'm now ebf DD, who is five weeks old.

@Serenity05

We're yours over the muscle too?

I've been really worried as I have read online that it's more difficult when they are over? I'm sure my surgeon told me I shouldn't have an issue though?

So did you not have any issues with supply etc?

Xx

@Salx29 yes, mine are over the muscle. I've not had any supply issues since my milk came in. The first couple of days with DD were tough cos she wasn't latching and I couldn't express enough colostrum to fill her up but then I got some nipple shields and when milk came in on day 3 I was so engorged I got a fever! I didn't have any issues with DS.

@Serenity05

Oh this has made me feel a little better!

Did you pump at all?

@Salx29 pumping has never really worked for me, although I don't know if that has anything to do with the implants. I can't get much out and I find it really uncomfortable. However, I do have a haakaa which I find far more effective - I just use it in the morning and I get around 20-30ml in about ten minutes which I then use to mix up DD's Gaviscon (she has silent reflux).
