How long can I go without expressing if I am away from my baby?

Have ended up in a tricky situation where I have said yes to a consultancy job which now means I will be away from my exclusively demand fed bf 5 month old for nearly 8 hours next week.

Originally I was taking her with me (scheduling a meet up with her every 2 1/2 hours to feed! )but the client has changed all the timings and it doesn't look possible to even take her with me.

I have a supply of ebm but I haven't even tried her with a bottle yet!

Is it possible to last for at least 6 1/2 hours without expressing (I can do it in the car before I set off home ) Can I request a break to express - the timetable as it is doesn't allow any time for this.

...and most importantly will my baby cope - if I get her to take a bottle before then?

I am in two minds to say no to it all but it is a great job - the other days are working at home - oh dear!

I am sure you are entitled to request a break to express. Does she feed every 2 and a half hours normally?

Start trying the bottles of ebm now so you are not too stressed about it. (tip - don't give them yourself as she will smell your milk and be highly likely to refuse bottle!)
Really depends on your supply if you can last 6 1/2 hours but yes you can request time to express.
Lastly, yes your baby will cope It is the same milk just from a different source. Had same situation with my dd when she was a bit younger and she was fine.
