I'm after some advice of when it would be safe to breastfeed newborn DS again after taking codine?

DS was born Weds, bf until Sat when I was told to stop due to taking codine for c section pain.

Last took codine on yday - Mon am - when would be safe to feed after pumping please?

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK501212/

This article suggests you would be clear after 36hours. Although levels fall quite quickly at first.

However La Leche League recommends not interrupting breastfeeding at all, just stop taking it. Presumably due to difficulties reestablishing feeding.

I hope you are feeling better
