When to go up a teat size? MAM bottles

5 month old very fussy baby with an element of bottle aversion.
Currently doing lots of chewing on teats, pulling it in and out of mouth meaning feeds take a long time.
Has reduced intake since 12 weeks of age (roughly around the same time we went upto size 2 teats)
Now takes 4-5oz 3-3.5hourly, averages about 25oz a day.

Should I try a size 3 teat?

DD always used to mess about with her bottles when she was due to go up a teat. Usually ended up with the new teat about 10-14 days before the recommended age on the teat. Has been using the fast flow (X teat) since about 6 months. I'd try a size up. Sometimes it would take a day or 2 for her to get used to the faster flow though.

We just recently went through this with mam bottles. Started taking a while to finish, got really bad trapped wind. Glad we went up to size 3, he’s back to downing his bottles at a decent speed again.

We've been on the size 3s a couple of days now. Some feeds are okay, and we're paced feeding, but others he lets the milk dribble out the side of his mouth or refuses to drink it. Why don't these babies just make it easy for us Grin
