Moving to formula advice

I currently breastfeed my 5 week old son and began to move him to formula bottle feeding 5 days ago. He has previously taken from MAM bottle with 0 teet size my breastmilk when I have expressed.

He just doesnt seem to take to the formula milk it very well. Eventually he does take it but with lots of fussiness and then still wants to latch on boob straight afterwards.

He has been through a wonder week development, could it be this?

Also when you LO has moved to fomula did they get constipation, if so how did you deal with it and does it disappear?

Anyone else have similar experience? How long did it take? What age was your LO when you moved them over?

I started giving formula top ups to my LO at about 7 weeks. We used aptamil which gave him constipation ( we later found out he has a cows milk allergy so most likely not down to type of formula in our case). From reading around apparently sma is less likely to cause constipation.
A main reason my DS fuses on the bottle is if the temperature isnt right. So perhaps check that you have the temp right for him.

Breastfeeding is about more than just nutrients for the baby so it's not surprising he still wants the comfort of the boob to settle. When my little guy is knawing on my breasts I put dummy in his mouth and hold him close to me as if feeding ( i do this with the breast out). This seems to trick him into calming down without actually putting him on the boob.
Hope this helps.

thanks for this. I like your dummy idea worth remembering and for your advice.
