Feeding until sick

Ds2 is mixed fed, was all breast milk until he got thrush and I got mastitis.. supply on one side dwindled and I was advised not to use any expressed milk incase of reinfecting him. He’s a month old (no recent weight but he’s a big baby looking at him)

His latest tricks is feeding until he gives himself “reflux” vomiting.. tested with a bottle he’d gladly take 6oz and sleep properly for 2/3hours but he’ll puke up loads.. on 4oz the vomits at a normal level but he’s a banshee and constantly rooting 5oz he’s still rooting, cranky and won’t wait past an hour n a half and obviously the puke goes up..

What in the name of buggery do you do Grin, obviously I don’t want to over feed him, but I quite like my ear drums and his crying sets off ds1.. so pacifying him (won’t take a dummy) to make him last a little longer is a nightmare. Hungry baby milk was dp’s suggestion.

My second baby was like this she would breastfeed until she was sick and then want to feed again straight away after! She did grow out of it. Until then I'd try to pause a little bit once or twice for a few minutes to let the milk go down and just try to pace the feed a bit so that she had time to feel full before she drank so much she vomited. They eventually learn and it's a balancing act if they're getting really upset and agitated from not being allowed to feed all in one go. I remember the amount of washing was ridiculous for a while. You'll get there Op it's hard.

Not the hungry milk. It’s just thicker. Advised not to by my HV. How often are you burping your little one? Mine went through a phase of doing this puke thing then just stopped it.

On the boob every 5 minutes unless he’s looking fussy n head bobby then I’ll try him even if it’s not been long just incase. On a bottle half way to every 2oz. For burping. I didn’t think hungry baby was the answer I know it causes horrible constipation.. swapping one evil for the next.

I’m just not used to a hungrier baby lol ds1 took 2oz at a push for ages, left the hospital on 15ml feeds, so a milk monsters a major change.
