moondog · 11/09/2007 23:17

Lets hopehe dopesn't have that fucking idiot of a GP on who talks shit about breastfeeding (and does a promotional blurb on the Cow & Gate website.)

VeniVidiVernonHartshornNUMNQV · 11/09/2007 23:18

Oh, God.

(posted by Hunker, as VVV, because I can't be arsed to get unbanned)

emkana · 11/09/2007 23:18

I was just going to say that moondog

I was f*ing mad last time they talked about b/feeding

"after a year it's for the mother's benefit"

harpsichordcarrier · 11/09/2007 23:19

oh effing hell what is that name all about
and by the way I declare a breastfeeding quorum

harpsichordcarrier · 11/09/2007 23:19

yes we are all here
let's make Pronouncements or something

munz · 11/09/2007 23:20

what channel is it on and am I likely to get pissed off about it? (am v pro)

ProjectIcarusinhercar · 11/09/2007 23:20

I might be forced to contribute...

emkana · 11/09/2007 23:21

Radio 2

Every time they discuss breastfeeding I e/mail, never gets read out though

kiskidee · 11/09/2007 23:22

can i add now that afaik, the producers are still looking for women to take part so if it doesn't come off, please don't take the pitchforks out.

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 11/09/2007 23:22

i know emkana, me neither, it is a mystery

moondog · 11/09/2007 23:24

That woman is so insufferably smug too.
Thinks she knows everything about everything.
She's a bog standard GP ffs.

Woman,know your limits!

emkana · 11/09/2007 23:25

Jeremy treats her like she is the font of all knowledge as well

moondog · 11/09/2007 23:26

It was quite funny earlier this week when a physio firmly but politely dismissed all the crap she had spouted about running shoes and knees.

Get back to yer corns and piles yer dimwit.

NadineBaggott · 11/09/2007 23:28

I love Jeremey
Is it Sarah something, she has an annoying voice but I know at least one of her sessions on there saved a bloke's life - they were talking testicular cancer, he rang in and the upshot was he sought advice and got treatement.

I'll listen out for you harpsi

NadineBaggott · 11/09/2007 23:29

Jarvis I think

moondog · 11/09/2007 23:29

Oh well.In that case, lets give her a fucking sainthood.
I could have told have told him that a lump in his bollock didn't augur well.

emkana · 11/09/2007 23:32

I really hated the distaste they expressed at the thought of extended breastfeeding.

I had thought that JV was more intelligent than that, but alas...

harpsichordcarrier · 11/09/2007 23:35

oh come on, sing with me emkana:
no-one likes us, we don't care

emkana · 11/09/2007 23:37

I would like to point out though that I have had a letter to the editor published in the Indy about breastfeeding

and a comment by me was read out on This Morning

oh yes

am tireless campaigner, me

NadineBaggott · 11/09/2007 23:39

I don't know about a sainthood but the guy did ring the show to say thank-you

laura032004 · 12/09/2007 11:39

They've just mentioned it again, so presumably going ahead. From the Radio 2 website:

"RETURN OF THE WET-NURSE
Wet-nursing was a desirable job years ago. As demand for them is once more on the increase, we look at the taboos surrounding even another mum helping out a friend in this way."

nachomama · 12/09/2007 11:49

Is there a getyertitsout emoticon? I'd like to use one very often
